I HATE BLOOD TESTS
OK. I NEED TO VENT.
Does anyone else dread the blood tests ? My veins are shot post chemo and it hurts :(
I always seem to get the nurse at the path place who is hopeless and has difficulty getting blood from me and leaves a big bruise.
I always try to quietly ask for someone experienced because I have had previous traumatic experiences with giving blood, but today the hopeless nurse confronted me about it.
I calmly tried to explain my history to her, but she just didn’t get it. Why should I have to explain myself?
I swear, she must work there 24/7 and is always free when I get there!!!!!!

- Oh Tracey I’m so sorry you are going through this....I’m so glad your doc picked that up , he sounds like a keeper. It’s hard not to fear the worst, we all get that. But you are a proven warrior!

- Yes in Melb hospital and family can visit. No limit on time or people now covid restrictions have lifted a bit.
- Oh dear, @Locksley ... you got the short straw this time! Well done on the Dr picking up on the swollen ankles tho .... he’s on the ball!!
yes, it is upsetting, so fully understand the tears .. at least it is being ‘done’ now, so you should be ok at home over Xmas/new year xx

Take care - This is where I am at. Was at Dr getting port dressing changed on Wed. My Dr noticed my swollen ankles I thought was another gift from chemo. I still have little cough 10 weeks on from chest infection. Chest xrays clear. Dr concerned so off to hospital I go. After many tests and scans it has shown I have blood clots on my lungs and heart. They have said this is unusual. Fucketity fuck. Now having needles of blood thinners that freakin sting to help me. I know I'm in the best place with Dr looking after me. I Will have another heart echo scan tomorrow and review plan of action. There have been tears. I feel I have been through a lot and fought hard. Not ready to be pushing up daisys.
