Hi there Dot, so pleased that you have settled in at home after your op. Nursing staff are so lovely and caring ... but there's no place like home ... especially being in your own bed!!!!
By now you will have your path results and your doc will have advised on your treatment etc..... I so hope that all is well.
I know how wretched and helpless I felt after a single mastectomy, so I guess I'll just double that and add a bit for you!!!
A couple of things to remember .... your doc advises you on the do's and dont's of things you can do .... this is done for a reason -please take note and "do as you are told" !!!! You may feel sick to death of the inactivity but as my oncologist told me - you are not superwoman!!!! Don't know where he got that idea and I hate to admit it, but he was right!!!
As far as your daughter is concerned .... let her see your scars - wait till the wounds have healed an the stitches are out. Knowledge won't hurt her, it will make her strong and she will feel included in this journey you are going on. There would be nothing worse, from her point of view, than being excluded on the grounds that she is "too young to understand". You wil be needing her love and support as well as that of your husband.
