Thanks Louise for responding. I suppose it is just nice to know that someone out there is listening! I did have options with which surgeon to go with, and for reasons that I am not sure, of I selected one a few weeks ago. I have nothing to compare her to, but in the positive she is easy to talk to, she listens to me and she explains everything to me, so I am not left trying to read between the lines. I have seen her again today to get results of a second round of biopsys and a MRI. Fortunately the new tests have confirmed exactly what was in the first tests - so still low grade DCIS - but lots of it in one breast. I am now going to see a plastic surgeon to dicuss my options of reconstruction - all which is very daunting to me, when I still keep thinking is this absolutley necessary? I guess we cant look into the crystal ball and predict the future and so I am resigned to the fact that I will need to take some action just for my sanity and peace of mind!
