HOW LONG

I went back today to see the oncologist thinking today would be the last with him before my treatment, and still draining fluid, and I have a weird feeling under my right rib which is the breast I had operated on it is like something is under there so now I have to have a other ultra sound and go back next week for results and get drained again.

How long does the draining go on for!! and has anyone else had this weird feeling under the rib??????

  • Hey there. I had my drains in for two weeks after. Everyone s body is different. The rib feeling may be where yhe drain is sitting. Good luck

  • Hey, im 4 weeks out from my bilateral mastectomy.  I had drains in for 9 days after my operation, and ive just been back to have a lump of fluid drained last week, already the fluid has built up again, so im back to the doctor again this Friday to probably have it drained again.

Weird feelings.....i think i feel weird all over my chest area, some parts are numb, some parts hurt, some parts ache.... It is a crap journey and ive only been on it a couple of months.

Hope you really feel better soon

  • After I had my mastectomy   I kept getting a seroma on the scarline.I had to get it drained/syringed off twice a week for about 5 weeks and then it stopped. It's not uncommon. It's frustrating when you have to wait.Unfortunately we do alot of that on this crap bc journey.Good luck with the ultrasound - hopefully the weird feeling is just from the fluid buildup.
