how long was your hosptial stay

Hi, I spent 4 days in hospital with one mastectomy and insertion of 2 tissue expanders. My previous mastectomy had me out on day 3, but that is because it was Christmas day. I didn't require a catheter, but in hind sight, it would have made that first wee easier. I remember how hard it was to sit up and on a pan in the night following my surgery. I was very doped up, and it was a big surgery, more than just having a mastectomy. By the next morning I was helped out of bed, and into the shower, very slowly. It was good and I had waterproof dressings on, so easier to manage. I had stiff chest muscles, and a small amount of pain, but it wasn't unbearable. I found it easier to sleep propped up on pillows, and when home slept up on 2 to 3 pillows and a boomerang pillow for many weeks. Now I can sleep on my side like I use to and it is great.
