I'm having surgery tomorrow am, wide excision with sentinel node biopsy. I have been told lots of different times to wait to get the results back from 5 days to 2 weeks. How long did you have to wait for your tests to come back. Oh how I hope it's not two weeks? I've been waiting since 9th of April, seems forever ! Thanks Mary

I had my surgery and sentinel node biopsy on the 13th March and went back for my results 7 days later. But I have heard from other women that it can take up to 2 weeks to get all pathology results back. I have had other tests since then like scans, biopsies, and more blood tests which have taken a good 2 weeks for results. So it's abit fraustrating but not much we can do. I waited almost 2 weeks, after mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy.But looking back now,it wouldn't have made much difference,because my oncologist wouldn't start my treatment until I was reasonably healed from surgery.Hope all goes well with your surgery. Cheers Robyn xox

Thanks Tonya, I better hit the endone then! Although I only need Panadol... Think you might be right about the bunging up although I only had it twice. I have to ring for my results on Thursday so that's not too bad. Xxx

That's not long at all Marg! I'm in my hospital bed now and I feel so relieved now. I cannot get over just how lovely and caring all the nurses and surgeon and anaethesist are. The Community health breast nurse is wonderful and has helped me so much. It warms my heart to know there is such support out there for us while we cope with this disease X Mary

Thanks Chris, it has all gone well today, I can't believe how peaceful I feel now it's out of me. I won't see the the surgeon until the morning to get the details but he's done a fabulous job. I needed fentanyl in recovery and I'm to have endone later. I don't have a drip yay! Fingers crossed about the rest of the process but so far so goodTen gold stars to the surgeon the aneathisist and the hospital staff 10000 gold stars to breast screen SAxxx Feeling so lucky.

It took 1 week for my results - but they usually won't start any treatment til about 6 weeks after so your all healed up. Waiting is frustrating but I did enjoy post op knowing the cancer was gone from my body. good luck!

Have been thinking about you today!!! I had my WLE on 17th April then had to wait till 2nd of May for results - then 16th May for treatment plan!!! Still I would rather they took their time and got it right... I know my results also got sent to some professor at breast screen for a second opinion so it all takes time. Make sure you ask for a copy of your results ... Hugs Chrisxx
