How can I celebrate with my pink angels?

Well the long awaited treatment journey is over... can hardly believe that since diagnosis at the end of Feb that so many appointments and medications have been looked after....what a roller coaster!!! Glad it's over.

Now, I start the journey of Arimidex and await results of CT scan of lungs, abdomen and pelvis. Wondering if you had any of these follow up scans after chemo/radium and were there other tests you had done to clear any doubts!!!

I realise how blessed I am to have had so many wonderful family and friends along the journey with me. Now, I am wondering how best to celebrate with them and what do I give them as a beautiful memorable gift....any ideas are most welcome.

Hope you are in good spirits.

Mary

  • I have both my children a week away with their families, we were lucky as we own timeshare so I had weeks banked. It is very difficult finacially we were just lucky.

  • Hi Donna. Thank you so much for your update on how you celebrated. I was actually thinking of having high tea at the coffee shop that I used to meet up with the girls from work at during my treatment journey. What a great idea to fundraise while you were having fun! I was wondering about gifts!!! I don't want it to cost the world.

Yes the family is my one that I am deliberating about at the moment. Maybe I will book that trip to Ireland with my two teenage children after all. I am a sole provider.

Hope all is well for you and have a lovely weekend. Mary

  • Congratulations on reaching this fantastic milestone, let the party begin.

I thought on this one long and hard after my treatmenht had finished and here is what I did:

I have a high tea at my house for my lady friends and I made it a fund raiser donating the proceeds to BCNA.

We had a small party at home for our close family and friends that were there for us.

My husband and I most importantly went on a holiday together to find each other again, 10 days in Cairns enjoying relaxing swims and reading books.

Whatever you choose to do, enjoy.

    Donna
