Hot sweats and flushes

Hi

Perhaps someone can help a friend of mine from our Breast cancer exercise group. Kay hasnt a computer so I said I would try to see if anyone has a similar problem. Kay is on Femara tabs  and is distressed by terrible night sweats. flushes and nausea.  Her oncologist cant help her. She is taking ginger and ginger ale for nausea. I am on Femara as well but the problems I have are dry vagina and joint aches and stiffness.

Hope their is someone to help her via my blog

I am having Herceptin no 12 next week then only 5 to go. Have to have a mannogram and heart scan next month so am hoping all will be OK

Cheers to all

June

  • Thanks to all who answered my request to help my friend Kay.

I printed out replies and took them around to Kay yesterday and she was pleased to hear from you with your suggestions and that there are also others with her problem. Also amazed at the extent of this network.

Our exercise group meets every Wednesday and we do 1/2 hour of aeorbics and then stretching exercises after which we have a cuppa and a chat. I really enjoy this group.

  • Hi June,

I stumbled across two other blog posts here and here which also include suggestions on how to improve hot flushes. I hope that Kay finds some of these suggestions useful.

  • Hi, My name is Kay as well. I have trouble with night sweats and hot flushes, but not so much now that my GP has put me on catapresse. Maybe she could ask her dr. about this. I do still have some though but not as bad as before. Before I started all this I was on a natural progesterone cream, but not sure if I can have that now. It had things under control. I do have mood swings though and was wondering if anybody else did. I think they're worse now. I'm on Arimadex, and have stiff joints. I am 55.

Hope your friend finds some relief from something.
