Hi loveable pink sister, I end up at hospital due to bingle 38.1 Monday morning at I. I actually running nose from around day 4but just on and off. I didn't take any medication because not sure if allergic or flu, so until Sunday weaker and weaker, touching 37.8, 37.9 I took panadol, until Monday morning. 38.1. Running nose, sore throat, muscle pain, joint pain, all flu symptoms. I really want to kill the nurses in Emergency, the needles were so killing pain, and took 3 place for the canola. I usually strong in bare pain, and canola juSt take a bit longer time only.....I cried with scream in tears...... so hurting I was so headache and weak, and all sweat. (Lucky I cut my hair already ) They want to keep me in isolation, blood test, temperature, blood pressure non stop checking, and wee wee. My WBC only 0.07, and still RBC low too (I had iron infusion last Friday, but didn't boost me up ) They sent me drip fot antibiotics but panadol until around 4when move me to temperary ward, and then to main ward. In fact the cause of fever was from my wee wee.they found bugs which should be there for a while (Yeah I came across 4times infection since Sep, I have once right after 1st surgery ) Now feeling better, but very hassle needle (my Gosh ).. I expect will be home tmr and make sure my WBC gone up a bit.......so will be needle for blood test!!!!! I wonder if every cycle I'll having this, wat should I do Take care every one The gave drip antibiotic, but panadol until 3-4pm

Tks Robyn I know you always here with me. I knew I was a bit over when feeling sick it's really sensitive, the nursrs actually are all loveable and angels to bare my reaction. Feeling stronger now but just waiting WBC to the level. Cheers (hugging ) Rosanna

Yeah Deanne, actually the 1st canola was on a brusis area, of the mature nurse was toil kind she passed by, and change another spot for me at front forearm, which quite unusal position. She usually rinse to make sure it went through, but when fluid in, the pain was the whole forearm being chop and punch and squeeze at a time. She stop to touch and free me expected will be settled later, about almost 2hours later, or even longer (remember I had 2canola on me ) another student nurse came in to start a new pack of drip, I can't bare it once the fluid start to go through, they tried 2times with my scream and cry, they called the doctor tomake another canola. This was unlikely and unlucky experience, I said sorry to them for the extra work, they all comforting me. When feeling sick and especially with fever,skin will be more sensitive. I'll do more precautions next time. Yes the GP on duty said will report to my Oncologist to set a booster in the future round. Thks so much u staying with me. Xoxo -Rosanna

Hi sweetie Jen, I did think of quitting chemo when I was in critical unwell feeling (headache is my deadly pressureppoint )......Haha you said funny I can't link with tropical island to headache n pain, but sure will try. Anyway now feeling much better even though WBC still unfavorable, thinking back yesterday, the needle or the pain is just a smile -what so big deal........ So when emotional, stupid and silly thinking /decision came all wrong. Thanks staying with me, I'll keep up and go for it. Love u -Rosanna

You poor sweetie, I am pleased you are on the mend though. As all the lasies say they will no doubt put you on the Nuelasta injection and that helps stop infections etc. I always have issues with my veins, and over this process ahve grown very tired of nurses digging areound trying to find a vein and hurting me, so now I tell them in advance that there will be an issue, they get heat bags etc to try and bring the veins up if not they get a doctir with a mobile ultra sound and find the vein, problem solved. My hair started to drop on the 14th day on the first cycle. I had it cut to 1mm too. Those that were left seemed to grow a little but I did not notice much more coming off after that because it is too short. I think they will all eventually drop off.

Glad to hear you are out of hospital. Are those number your WBC? 5 is good.

Thanks for your caring, I've just discharged from hospital today, I believed the booster and my body work again, so from 0.07, then 0.35 and yesterday 5, so... pretty good.

Frankly speaking, if not because of the needle issue, all were fine. It's safe to stay in hospital and for sure very clean, and I am quite confident over the cycle, even this is the first time experience. I had the canola for almost 4days, now the area wasn't brusis but yes, sore, I'll put an ice-pack to see if it help.

Cis, when was your hair drop off? I shave last week before it falling, but still have like 1mm on my head.

Hi V,Tks for your message Yeah it's so painful with the needle especially so many times, but I hate the port as well..... I still in hospital and had another blood test, she is a student but hassle and feel sorry for 2times,failed... She asked for a senior to come over a bit later. She worked with private pathology before, she tried on my feet, but use a glove to put hot water to warm up for like 15 second only, hurt though, but it's bareable and done. I asked different nurses how to get rid of the bruises quickly, because I thought the next round will be next Friday, and if ice pad help at all...I can't get any positive answer until she respond yes, She said make sure keep my body warm, take a little walking prior chemo injection (but seems quite impossible ),plenty of fluid, and get a cream from Chemist, something start with H, she forgot. People bought this to heal faster for party purpose. She gave info to me from her experience, tks God. So I might her words to make my way easier. Also, today my doctor said I'll have the booster for every round, so it should be help, however if not chemo dose have to re-adjust lighter. So will see. My WBC reach 0.35, and hopefully reach 1.5,then they'll let me out. Good luck -we all

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. I has the same problem with my first round and ended up in hospital, but the Neulasta injections worked to keep my blood counts up for the next 2 rounds. Now I am on a different weekly drug so don't need them. I had problems with my veins in hospital after first chemo and they couldn't even get the cannula in when they tried to change it on the 3rd day, although they tried 7 times to get the needle into my arm and then my foot. Very painful! So they had to change me over to oral antibiotics instead of intravenous. After that I had a port inserted and now get my chemo through that. It has been so much better. I suggest you ask your oncologist about a port or PICC. Hugs Viv
