@Blossom1961, when I was in labour, my husband kept trying to get me to use the gas. The idea of something over my face horrified me and in the end I yelled at him "If you think the F**king gas is so fantastic, why don't you F**king suck on it!!!" The midwife then said that I must be in transition as I was swearing. My hubby soon set her straight on that one and assured her that was my usual method of communication when stressed, transition or not.
