Home after Bilateral Mastectomy

Hello my pink sisters, I have just arrived home after my op. It is great being home. I feel comfortable in how my chest area looks & my pain is being kept to a minimum by the pain meds. Still have 2 drains in & these are most annoying & uncomfortable. The liquid draining has slowed down so hopefully they can be removed soon. Take care ladies. Regards Adrianne

  • Glad to know you're home and didn't have to spend too much time in hospital. The springtime now will help cheer you so rest up my dear. Thinking of you. Love Janey xxx
  • Thanks Michelle, Dianne & Deanne, for your words of support & for sharing your experiences. I used the advise of one of our pink sisters on the drive home. She said to place one of the kids fluffy animal pillows under the seat belt & it worked a treat. Such a simple idea, but the comfort & reduction of pain for me was a big deal. Take care & I will post an update after my appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. Regards Adrianne

  • Glad to hear you are home and feeling ok. Rest and let your body recover. Those drains do not take long to do the job and soon you will be free of them! Thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. Deanne xx
  • So glad to hear you are back at home and feeling comfortable apart from the drains. They won't take long to slow down and get removed.  You have done so well, and a huge part of your treatment is now in the past.  Congratulations on coming through - take care - thinking of you,
