Hi on the crazy train as we approach Xmas. Chemo finishes 6 dec and I have to collect info to make a decision re radio or bi lateral.
I was told that I could have a bi lateral mastectomy and avoid radio therapy. Saw the radio therapist who strongly recommended rads elliminating that choice if I want to be safe. Tumor 45 nodes had a couple of specs. So confused thought I,d got the answer remove breasts avoid rads over left side avoid lung heart rib skin damage. Surgeon said there was a choice radio therapist said definitely not put simply I am so scared of spoiling chances of implants in the future if I don't really need or can avoid radio therapy. How can their opinions differ so much. This is just so hard but hope you will share with me ladies it really does help I just keep opening new info boxes in a trip over manner do the surgeon once rads specialists ever get together and discuss the individuals case and hammer out a recommendation or are you left to train up in the language dialog expertise cases histories juggle the options and hope you make the right decision?
