High grade DCIS
After a mammogram guided core biopsy my surgeon rang to say I had DCIS and he would need to remove a small area which would probably be all that was necessary.

Hello to all you lovely ladies, hope you've had a good Christmas.
After having a partial mastectomy in November only to find I needed more surgery, I went for a second opinion on Monday 5th December. I felt comfortable with the breast surgeon, he explained everything very clearly, I then saw his recommended plastic surgeon on the 8th and had a total mastectomy with expander inserted on the 9th December.
I'm now 3rd week post op and am feeling pretty good, had a set back with antibiotics causing me gastro problems for a while but now that's all cleared up and I was able to enjoy Chrissy dinner with gusto.
It will be into February before filling of the expander can start due to holidays but that's okay, I can wait.
I'm so glad I went for a second opinion and have great confidence in both surgeons which I'm sure must help with recovery to a degree.
