Hi everyone!

Hello! Had first round of AC chemo this morning and   apart from feeling a bit 'spaced out' feel quite ok. I was diagnosed in June and had a lumpectomy on the 8th of July. I'm stage 3, grade 3, Her2+. Would love to hear your stories! Hoping to go to work tomorrow, maybe I'm dreaming - lol! :-)

  • My chemo day was Friday's and after my 1st I went to wrok on the Monday, in hindsight that was not smart, but we each react diffferently and my comination of chemo was different to yours.

I found that I was fine day 1, 2 and come day 3 I was hit with nausea, fatigue with diarrhea coming at about day 6.

We are all different though and how we react is dependant on the chemo combination and our own metabolism. I did go on sick leave at my 2nd chemo as my immune system packed up and the fatigue just made it too hard.

5 months later I ams till on leave and am so looking forward to returning to work once my radiation is over and I have recoved.

I wish you well with your treatments and hope that your side effects are all manageable.

    cheers

  • Like Erica, I hope your journey hasn't too many bumps along the way for you. Be gentle with yourself and don't try and do too much at first. I really hope that you can return to work and that you are up to it. But don't be too hard on yourself if you can't. Chemo is so rough on our bodies and we all feel the effects differently. I thought I'd be okay to work through chemo but found I just couldn't and somehow felt like I had let myself down. I quickly got over that feeling with the help of my family and from the wonderful support and kind words of encouragement from all the pink ladies here on this site. Remember this is 'you' time. It's okay to concentrate on yourself and getting well. You are number one for a change. All the very best on your journey Anya. Love Janey xxx
