Herceptin#2 Taxol#4

Long day today being fed drugs (4hrs from woe to go) but the hardest part for me (or them) is finding a good vein that they can get blood out of initially to test levels - like drawing blood out of a stone! Does that make me cold and immovable?? Haha. I had been really good drinking lots (not alcohol - see last post!) in the day or two leading up to treatment. However, for the last 2 sessions I hadn't been so conscientious.... and I suffered. So this time I have had reminders set on my phone to drink a glass 7 times a day. Getting blood today was easier but the new vein on the side of my wrist, further up my arm to the last one, was a little sensitive. Minor though in the scheme of things!

Still no side effects to speak of. No nausea or fuzziness. Feel 'normal' really so continue to be able to spend time with my grandkids and do some trips away from these 4 walls with my partner!

...ANNNDDD is it my imagination or is my scalp, although still white, developing a dark tinge and my slight fuzz thickening!! My eyebrows thinned and needed a bit of pencil to come alive but hopefully will come back now. My top eyelashes also thinned but only a bit - always looked like I had lashes. Bottom lashes seemed to disappear but I always use liner to hide that fact. Feeling like I'm on the up in this department. But it will take AGES to grow hair anywhere near as long as what I had! New style coming up...

  • Hi Erica, great to know you are doing better on the Taxol and Herceptin. It's the best feeling to see some hair no matter what color it is, mine's doing much the same as yours. But it wasn't until about Taxol 11 that I started growing just that tiny bit. I was getting ready for work last night, drew a lovely set of eyebrows, got the mascara out and I reckon I've got about four eyelashes left! ;) Have you given any consideration to a port at all? I know I whinge about mine but the best part is there is no hunting for a vein by the nurses. Use the Emla cream, next to no pain when the port is accessed. Any rate just a thought. Cheers Cheryle :)
