Herceptin

Hi ladies glad to read all the positive posts over Christmas. I had my 11th herceptin today and had a bad reaction to it and was wondering if there are any others out there have this happen to them. I got very hot and clammy and my pulse went really fast. I then got some chest pain a tightening in my thought and felt like I had been punched in the chest. Nurses and Drs ran from everywhere had a ecg but that didnt show up any abnormalities. They gave me heaps of drugs cant remember their names . Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them ?

  • Hi Dale, I have been on the arimidex for about 6 weeks now and have sore knees! didnt get the headaches . Its not too bad so far fingers crossed. I am feeling much better thanks , heart scans and other tests next week. Regards Hilary

  • Hi Hilary

I haven't been on Herceptin, but have witnessed what you describe in two friends from the chemo ward. They now have regular heart tests, guess these will also be added to your schedule whilst you are still on Herceptin.

  • Hi Hilary,

So sorry to hear you had a bad reaction to your Herceptin.  You must have gotten one hell of a fright.  I hope you are well now and have recovered fully.

How long have you been on your Arimidex and how are you coping with it? I have been on it now for about six weeks and have not suffered any side effects apart from a little bit of nausea and some headaches in the beginning.

Happy New Year by the way, I hope it is a better year for all of us and that our health continues to improve.
