Herceptin woes

Iv'e been having Herceptin infusions every three weeks for the past 15 months and  being Her2+ my bone mets have shrunk but my Heart has weakened to 47%.

My Oncologist said it's ok and we will see how things go but i'm not so sure.

Has anyone had the same or similar experience??

  • Hi Vicki - I've been receiving 3 weekly Herceptin infusions for three years with another two to go.

My heart muscle function goes up and down and bone density has dropped a little.

The most significant side effect I've experienced is tender feet - excruciating at times - I hobble to the loo or the sink!  This flared up just on a year ago. Regular exercise has not been possible with a walk around the block about every two weeks. Just two weeks ago my oncologist finally 'heard' that I was in constant pain when my feet had to take weight so an x-ray was done which showed nothing. I was then prescribed 75mg of Lyrica which is a pain killer. Having done some research on line I believe I have neuropathy in my feet - all the symptoms fit.

The joy is that the pain killers work! I can feel the tingling but am able to walk properly!!!

    keep asking the questions,

    Beryl C.
