I have a custom made German sleeve and hand, very hard wearing and surprisingly cool. The first off the shelf one was OK to wear but not very effective, the second custom made local effort was abysmal and nearly did my head in. So I learned not to put up with things if I didn't have to. The third was better in every way and not more expensive than the second. Nearly five years on my neuropathied hands are fine but my feet will probably always be a bit odd. Doesn't affect much although running is not a good idea, but I never was a runner! Walking on very rough surfaces sends completely contradictory messages to my brain, but I manage. Pluses are that I am otherwise really well, working, travelling and enjoying the life I might not have had. When you are going through treatment, it's often hard to think about the long term, but it may help to keep your eyes on the prize! Best wishes.
