Herceptin and the brain

Hi, I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in April 2011 and had a mastectomy, chemo and radiation. I have been on Herceptin since June last year and had almost completed my 12 months worth before I was just promoted to Stage IV breast cancer and diagnosed with a secondary brain tumor. The Herceptin unfortunately could not cross the blood/brain barrier and provide protection there. I am waiting for neurosurgery this week and will then start full brain radiation, chemo and a different targeted therapy regime. I am on Twitter and am tweeting daily about the parallel experiences of last years treatment and that I am experiencing now. (@SoniaWhite48)
