Hi Chris
Thanks for reading and your input. Last time round I didn't get sick and managed to continue house, looking after young children and some home business duties with relatively no probems. Now I work in a school, I am debating the whole return to work thing and have put another post up asking for input from others.
My Dr actually said he's happy for me to work. He knows my situation and doesn't seem to think it is such a problem. I wonder if it could be that the protocol is Abraxane/Herceptin every week so 1/3 the normal dose each time instead of the whopper dose then 3 weeks to recover? In truth it is only the Abraxane that lowers the white cell counts. I am off for another week and can make my mind up at the end of this coming week. Truth be told it is the hairloss and need for head cover of some sort that makes me not want to go back. Kids are curious and observant creatures...not sure I want to be confronted with their frank honesty in their observations. hmmmm such a dilemma
Interestingly this time around I have no take home medication at all! I go to the HOCA and have chemo and that is it. The intravenous anti-emetic lasts for 3 days and by then they expect any nausea to have dissipated.
