hello
hello,
I have been reading the online posts for a few weeks now but this is my first blog post. I was diagnosed with stage 2b triple negative bc on 18th September. up to the point of actually getting ...
It sounds as though you have caught your TNBC early and your team is hitting it hard straight away. I am so sorry you lost your sister and other family to bc, but every case is different, and that doesn't mean that things will be the same for you at all. Chemo isn't easy but you can do it, and if it is making you feel sick, then it is making your cancer feel sicker! Are you having weekly chemo? There is bound to be someone here who was on the same program, so keep in touch with how you are going.
I am/was also TNBC - there is a group here you can join and read other stories which can be helpful when you have the same type of diagnosis. I had 12 weeks of chemo, and found that drinking green tea with fresh ginger slices in it really prevented nausea, especially in the morning first thing. The tea shops have a brand called Sencha which isn't bitter at all - an arrowroot biscuit also helps along with the tea! (I was not a tea drinker before).
I had surgery first, but lots of people have chemo first these days - it shrinks the tumour and makes surgery simpler for one thing. Remember, there are lots of pink sisters here for you, so post whenever you need to talk or vent or get a hug. Just take things one day at a time - you will get through this.
Big hug, Michelle xx
