Hello Lovlies

I'm travelling really well!! My bloods are all at normal range, Ive gained a kilo, my nails are slightly brown but strong and my hair is growing back, its about 3mil long and pepper grey. My eyelashes are sparce tho, i tried some mascarra the other day, and got 5 on one and about 4 on the other! lol.

Im off for radiation treatment on the 6th August for 5 weeks. Im having the port taken out as its becoming sore, so probably do that while Im staying in Latrobe.

My taste has returned, but still not fond of carrots or red meat.

Tired at times, and my sleep alters from a good night to waking up several times. But over all I feel great!

Hard to believe when i started this journey I had a grim outlook, but my Dr and the BC team are very pleased with my prognosis so far. I did the right thing by not having the last chemo, they agreed that my body could'nt have handled another dose and that i may have actually overdosed a bit on it. Im experiencing a bit of Lymphodeama but I get a nice massage once a week and its helping alot. By Xmas, I'll be all done and dusted with this, 12 months travels fast when your dealing with all this!

All your advice here and shared experiences of your journeys have helped a great deal!! without your knowledge, I couldn't have grown to know what I know now, and be able to help others along the way with their journey. I'm investing in a 'chicken fillet' soon for my bra as im not having implants, Im having the left breast removed next year as a precausionary. I dont want to go through this again!

Hope this is finding you all well, I look forward to reading about how you are now too! xxxxx

  • Thanks for the update- good to hear you are travelling so well.Yes,it's a big chunk out of your life isn't it.But you'll make up for it and whoop it up soon. Give it a few more months and you'll be styling that hair, just in time for summer. After chemo, radiation will seem like a picnic! You'll probably get abit tired and abit sunburnt-that's as bad as it got for me anyway. The first time you go they draw all over your chest with texta-called mapping. The first zapping session is abit scary but it's quick. Take care and let us know how it all goes.
