Hi Linda
thank you for sharing your story, it does help to read how other woman get through Breast Cancer. I have finished my treatment JUNE 24 this year. I called the chemo and radiation therapy my life insurance policies since I believe that my cancer was removed and I am cancer free now. I was diagnosed in December last year with grade 3 double positive breast cancer, so I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy, 3 out of 4 of my nodes were positive so I then went on to have an axillary clearance and great news all of those nodes taken were clear.
I cannot have children but I am so blessed to have four beautiful nephews. I got through all of my "life insurance treatment" with the help of my wonderful family and friends not to mention also the family's pets! I basically just took it a day at a time, I do know that after my first chemo treatment day 3 I felt very down and just thought how can I continue if I feel this horrid for the next 5 months! I was ok I started to feel better and within my three weekly chemo cycles weeks two and three were good weeks I could work, go to the gym and run (all in moderation though).
Please if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask I am sure that one of us in this group will have an answer collectively we have a good deal of experience getting through this.
My thoughts are with you and your family
Nikki
