Heartburn

hi everyone, did anyone get heartburn while taking Kisqali? If so what did you take for it?

  • I don't take that med but I do suffer from heartburn post treatment. Sometimes its so bad I am left wondering was it actual heart pains. Massage of the sternum helps unlock it and if that doesn't work a bit of carbonated water or soft drink will bring up the burp from the toenails. It usually settles then and I can go to bed. I am not a fan of taking more medication to balance effects of other medication.

  • @maggie14 sounds like it might have, it’s a s..t disease
  • Glynnis I take it all the time, before bc, but I think the anxiety  from metastatic  bc makes it worse .
  • @maggie14 Thankyou for that, I had nexium when I was doing chemo so I presume it will be ok to take with this too. I hope all goes well with your gastroscopy tomorrow. Do you take the pariet all the time or just when needed?
  • Hi Glynnis  I get heartburn with it , I take Pariet , it's similar to nexium . My osophagus where it meets my stomach is very sore and I have had a lot of pain when eating.
I'm  booked in tomorrow to have a gastroscopy to find why.
Its been  worse since I have been on Kisqali,  on my 15th cycle.
  • Thankyou ladies, @Blossom1961 I also got it bad with the chemo was on nexium for months on that, I see my oncologist on Friday so will see what she says, been drinking lots of milk has helped a bit. 😃
  • Hi @Glynnis I didn’t take kisqali so I can’t help sorry. I did get severe heartburn with the AC chemo and it was treated with Losec. Best wishes xxx
  • It's one of the few side effects I didnt get, thank goodness, I hope you get it sorted quickly, maybe try an over the counter from the chemist if it continues .
