On Tuesday I had the tests the Cardiologist requested after the turn I took on New Years Eve. It took 4 hours for them to be completed so it was a very long, exhausting day. Yesterday he called me and requested I come see him in his rooms to discuss the results. The results of the test revealed my heart is not as good as one would hope and I have been booked in for a angiogram next Tuesday afternoon. Apparently when you have chemotherapy your blood becomes viscus and can cause blood clots and the tests have revealed I have 2 blockages near my heart. The Cardiologist is not sure if the blockage is blood clots or lifestyle related blockage. He is going to try and clear the blockage by disolving the blood clots or placing a stent in the artery if it is lifestyle related. He said in the worst case he may have to do a heart bypass. Unfortunately I also start Radiation next week so it is going to be a juggling act to fit it all in. I thought things would get better for me this year with radiation going for 5 weeks I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel but now with heart problems on top I wonder when it will all end.

Hi Kathryne, sorry to hear about all your heart issues. It will be a bit of a juggling act to sort out the problem and to commence radiation, but at least you know about it, and something is able to be done to fix the problem. Hi Kathryne, You certainly have a lot of things happening at the moment; all new stuff too. It is good they found the clot, or blockage, and I hope it can be fixed next Tuesday. On the other hand you have enough happening already. I am sure it is not easy to keep calm with all this going on. I guess you have to try and put faith in the Heart Specialist, that he will do his best to fix the problem; the sooner the better. It must be very scary for you at the moment, not knowing the outcome and having to try and trust everything will work out. I hope you have support at this time. You poor darl,that's alot to contend with.A friend of mine recently had stents put in and it was a reasonably easy procedure.He has been fighting fit since. I hope that's the road for you and NOT open heart surgery.It sounds like that light at the end of the tunnel is flickering abit.I hope it shines back after Tuesday-will be thinking of you. Tonya xx

That is great news Kathryne but a shame you had to be put through the wringer beforehand. Knowing that your heart is in good shape almost makes radiation feel like a picnic! I was paranoid my aching hip was cancer so had it xrayed.Whilst waiting for the results I began thinking how relieved I'd be if it was arthritis or a hip replacement- all a matter of relativity.Luckily,I had none of the above.Oh the relief- happy dance for us this time.

Thank you everyone for your comments and best wishes. I am happy to say that the test that was done that lead to me having the angiogram gave a false reading apparently this happens to 10% of those who have it. My angiogram said my heart had no blood clots and is infact text book perfect no blockages or narrowing, I am so relieved . Radiation started this week also so it has been a busy week, Thank you once again for your support and friendship.
