That is pretty scary, I know. Exactly what my heart was doing- but it was chemo induced. Those are ‘extra beats’ or ectopic beats by what you are describing ( I was an RN and worked years in coronary care) and they are usually harmless but can be uncomfortable. A halter can pick them up but they are notorious for stopping for the 24 hours the monitor is on. I take beta blocking medication now which helps enormously. I hope that’s all it turns out to be for you - I hear your worry for your husband. It’s awful to be afraid for your health because of the need to be the carer for partners or kids.
