Hope your tests clarify the situation @arpie! I was diagnosed with an arrhythmia about two thirds through chemo - but of course it’s a condition that can occur all in its own. Classic symptoms are palpitations and a sort of ‘fight or flight’ response, like an adrenaline rush. I didn’t know because I am virtually asymptomatic - I’ve had palpitations twice in seven years, I have to take my pulse to know what my heartbeat is doing. When first discovered, my surgeon cheerfully described my heartbeat as ‘all over the shop’.
Happily it responds well to treatment - a cardioversion ‘fixed’ it for a year or so, as did medication but it seems to be slowly fixing itself. I now take beta blockers only to help regulate rate and my heart is in normal sinus rhythm for considerable periods, then has an occasional blip. Doesn’t affect anything much otherwise. Hope it all clears up. Best wishes.
