Hazel's checking in

Hi Ladies, haven't been unable to log in lately as our main computer died:( Have a new one now. Couldn't log in on my tablet, I have contacted BCNA about it and they are working on it. Anyway, I am still going ok, aches and pains of course, but all under control. I am still working, sometimes I find it stressful and have to take time out and remember what life is all about. For those of you who remember, my partner was also diagnosed with cardio myopathy halfway through my chemo, he hasn't recovered quite as well. He is managing his illness with a whole lot of medication, due to have more tests this week and hopefully they will insert a device that will help his heart pump better. I seem to be coping with the Arimidex, no extraordinary side effect, up to this point anyway. My GP is managing my osteoporosis. Anyway ladies, hope you are all as well as can be expected and hopefully I can now keep in touch on a regular basis, take care,

Hazel xx

  • Hi, yes it's a 6 monthly injection to help strengthen the bones. There were other options, but I chose the half yearly one. It comes with a lovely set of side effects as well, just had to weigh it all up. I had started to blame chemo for my osteo but was told I would have already had it before BC. Hazel xx
  • Hi ladies. I am wondering what injections you are having. Is it for osteoporosis?
  • Yes, my trip is getting very close. We leave on Anzac Day. Have just had a little hiccup in my preparation due to hormones and unfortunately have to have a little procedure to check my uterus this Friday. Really unfortunate timing but at least I can get it checked before I go! This journey just keeps on surprising me! Really looking forward to the trek and hope that it will put everything behind me. It will be my 2 year anniversary of diagnosis on the second last day of the trek. Something to celebrate! :) Deanne xxx
