Happy news

yay, today I spoke with my breast surgeon and she declared after 5 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, my lymph nodes have returned to normal! Happy days. They are also thrilled with the 6 tumours having an overall reduction of 50% and 1 completely disappearing......

Now for some research on mastectomy and immediate reconstruction.

  • That's awesome !

I have had two cycles and there has been no change so feeling dis heartened but thinking maybe it's too early?

I think having chemo first has advantages but I am struggling to find good info.

You give me hope - thanks

Goodo Kym, that's really positive news. Now you can make plans and move forward onto the next step. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace????????

  • That is brilliant news. How many of your lymph nodes were involved? It must be wonderful to know the chemo is working.

    Well done

  • Hi Kymvass, that's absolutely brilliant news! Glad to hear that the neoadjuvant therapy has worked so well.

If you haven't done so already, we'd love to welcome you to the Breast Reconstruction group as there are quite a few stories in the group from other women who have had mastectomies and immediate reconstruction which might help you as you start to gather information and make your decisions. It is a challenging time to get your head around the options available and a lot of the medical info given out doesn't give you a feel for what to really expect so it's good to be able to ask questions and exchange experiences with others on the same path. Hopefully see you in the group soon. Best wishes, Jane xx
