Hairy Question

Hi ladies, just a question, probably silly. I might be getting a little ahead of myself, but just before my hair fell out, I had shaved down to a No.1 cut. Had my last chemo now and the rest hasn't fallen out yet. It's like sandpaper at the back with fluffy bits on top. I was sort of hoping it would all come back fluffy, but now I think it might be course in some places and soft in others. I was thinking if I  should have shaved it all off and started off from scratch or is that ridiculous? Not important in the big scheme of things, just wondering. Hope you are all doing well,

Hazel xx

  • Yeah, wasn't quite sure, actually thought I would be completely bald. Not far off of it. Just getting through my last lot of side effects, coping better this time. I think the difference has been this time I say my oncologist instead of a registrar and she is weaning me off the steroids instead of letting me crash like I did last time. This way, I am still hungry and even though I can't taste anything I am eating and drinking. I am hopeful of not going to hospital this time. I figure one more week and I can get really excited about no more chemo and move on to the next step:) I reckon Oman would be a bit hot for a wig! Thanks again, take care,

  • I too shaved mine three weeks after first chemo but some continued to grow white and is now much longer, well probably not that much, than the new darker stubble coming through. Like the others I am just pleased to be having some re growth three weeks post last chemo and probably won't cut it for months! Wigs are getting itchy in the heat in Oman because of the stubble. Back to hats for a bit I think.... Pleased you are sounding well Love. Julie

  • I had a few hairs here and there which were white and much longer than the rest. Once my new hair started to grow (this took about 9 weeks or so after my last chemo) I went and had the long bits buzzed off. It is still a bit fluffy and uneven but I haven't worried about having a proper trim yet. Deanne xxx
  • I think if you leave it,it will sort itself out.I don't think that starting again will make any difference.I am just going to let mine grow a bit,and when it gets to a length where I can get a trim,I'm hoping that the fuzz can be cut off.I will definitely stay with short hair though. If there is one good thing to come out of all this,it is that you can take a lot less time to get ready in the morning, when you have no hair!!I want to be able to keep it that way:) Cheers Hazel Hope you are feeling goodxoxRobyn
