Hi ladies,
I had chemo and radiation last year and finished everything mid October. I am wondering if others can share about their hair coming back? As you can see in my photo, I had a lot of curly hair. It has come back slowly but it is quite thin on top. I just want to be normal again and I know I am impatient! Is there anything that I can do to stimulate hair growth or do I just need to be patient?

I finished my chemo in Jan this year and my hair started to grow back before this. I lost most of mine on my first AC chemo but it started growing back with Taxol. I had greying, wavy, short hair prior to chemo but now it has grown back to be white and very straight!! I have so many comments about it from friends who knew what my hair was like before. Some have said it looks fantastic and people would pay a fortune to have that colour put in!!! Mine is natural!! The best thing is that it is healthy and very soft but also it makes me look young. I was so worried that it made me look 10 years older which is why I coloured it.

It took about 18 months for the curl to drop out of my hair.I have some waves now. I've noticed that my hair is slightly thinner on the right side of my head. That's the side I mostly sleep on.It's not noticeable but I can tell. My hairdresser sold me a hair product called activance(I think)to help hair growth. I also took a Blackmores hair vitamin. I can't say if either helped and the activance was very expensive- kinda got roped into that one! I think hair is abit like grass when it comes through- some blades come through quicker than others,

I have lost my hair and unfortunately I am no where near having my hair return on my journey yet. I want to say congratulations for getting through your journey and coming out the other side.
The only thing I have heard with regards to hair growing back is to have it shaved a couple of times as it is growing back so that it comes back healthier. Like I say I have not been down this part of the journey yet but a hairdresser who does the Look Good Feel Better sessions in Perth did tell me to do that when the time arrives.
