Hair loss

Hi Sandy - I was told after my first chemo I would lose hair soon, then I had to have a checkup before my next chemo (next Wednesday) my Oncologist remarked you will start to lose your hair in a few days - well, I wasn't taking any chances so I got my husband to give me a number 2, it looked ok until bang on time of the oncologist's prediction, I was drying my hair (very veryt short hair!) and as I leaned over the bathroom sink I noticed it was full of hair!  The next morning it was all over my pillow -so I said to my husband, that's it! Off with it.  So short story I have now a beanie on my nut! I even wear it to bed because my head gets really cold! I look like a real cancer patient - and I hate it, however having said that - I am not doing too bad really, because I think I knew it was coming and my days are full with test after test - (now I have a cardiologist on board because of my heart) and guess what! more darn tests!  So I think I am just thinking, so what just one more thing to deal with - I told my ego and looks to take a ticket!  Outwardly I joke and appear upbeat, but I have my 'off' days where I crash.  I have a trip to the hospital every day next week, including the next round of chemo - fun and games, I am getting to know the staff up there! Scary isn't it!  The thing I hate the most is the travelling the long distances to see other specialists and treatments, I don't like being out of my 'comfort' zone - and here in our tiny flat, no one sees me and I don't care what they think.  So we are at the same, heading for chemo number 2, I have to have four chemos - and I tell myself, the next one will mean I am half way there! (told you I appear upbeat!) I wish you good luck and hope you don't have any problems - I had blood tests today, (and my good arm does not like to give blood!) but I was very fortunate, the lady that took the blood has just finished all her treatments, so she was a darling and has been through the whole gambit, we chatted for half and hour whilst my husband patiently waited out side and wondered what all the 'giggling' was about! x x x
