Morning ladies, I have a question hope it doesn't sou d stupid but it's about hormone therapy and hair cuts/colours/foils and permanent chemical hair straightening, how do any of these go with the hormone therapy?? Is there any reaction?? Want to get my hair done but not sure how it will react, has anyone been tree done that?? Just not sure what to do, I have curly hair and am off to Thailand in a couple weeks for 2 weeks we'll need r and r with one of my daughters don't want the hair to go frizzy, any advice would be awesome. Hope all is well with everyone :-))

I'm with Robyn, I'm really trying to stay away from as many chemicals as possible. I didn't know what colour my hair was before chemo because I coloured it regularlly. It's grown back grey, people tell me it's a "good grey" but I have had some black foils put in as well just for a bit of colour. I chose foils because the dye doesn't come in contact with the skin. It's all up to what you're comfortable with. I'm currently attempting the no poo (no shampoo) thing, I'll have to see how that goes... Have a wonderful holiday!!

I remember asking my oncologist could I colour my hair (it was only about an inch long & very curly at the time !!) she looked up at my hair & then back & said you might want to wait a bit.........so your hairdresser can get hold of it ! I went back to dyeing it probably eight months after I finished chemo & have never looked back or doubted my decision, & have never had a reaction to any dyes. Best of luck either way Carmel

Well ladies had the hair chopped off and foils done, I'm pleased with the results haven't had short hair for about 15 years makes a big difference with the hot flushes as well. Hope all is well with everyone, I'm off for my orthopaedic consult tomorrow to see if we can work out what is in my bone marrow iny spine I'm hoping it's not a secondary as they think it is.

I've had wave around back and sides and at the front curl, I had my hair chemically straightened in December 2013 loved it last for about 6 months love it just 5 minutes to do a quick straighten each day didn't have to worry about it getting wet or anything can't afford to do that again at the moment and all so the chemicals are putting me off a bit so thinking I might just go short for a change and new look.

We like waves and body! My hair pre chemo was past my waist, blond, wavy with body, used to be straight then went a little curly so I will be happy with that!

I have had straight hair my entire life and now 18 months post chemo I still have curl. Amazing, but I do love it. Its has gone from really curly to now waves and body
