Had some hiccups, still waiting for surgery

Well I was all sorted to have surgery done at local hospital, only to find out they couldn't do the hook wire procedure because I am in a wheelchair and the procedure isn't done at the hospital, and I can't move after it so would not be able to be transferred from wheelchair.  You would think they would have noticed I was in a wheelchair at all the appointments I went to first, wouldn't you?  So they had to transfer my case to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.  Now going through all the meetings and appointments again, lol.

To add to the fun for the doctors, I have a fused neck so they have to do an awake intubation on me, AND last time I went under a general anesthetic, I went into cardiac arrest, so the doctors are having to have an ICU bed and team on hand, and specialist anesthesiologist etc.  Apparently I am a "challenge".

I go back to see the head surgeon next week and hopefully will get a surgery date then.

Hopefully, more news next week.

  • Oh dear and I was warned some can have an allergic reaction to the blue dye too. They had better pay close attention for you.

They will figure something out and you never know it might be some ideas hatched that could benefit all off us in the future?

Bummer on the more waiting though. I just want it over, want it out, want it gone.

OMG that's complicated matters for you. As long as you maintain your sense of humour, and looks like you have, it will work out in the end. All I can do is send you a big cuddle, and lots of good wishes for next week, Trace ??????
