Grow hair grow!

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone is using any particular shampoo to "help" their hair grow? At the moment I'm taking Swisse Hair, Nails and skin tablets but hadn't even thought about Shampoo. I read on the Young Pink Sisters FB site that some people are using Nioxin or Bosley shampoo. Any thoughts? Cheryle:)

  • Great to hear you feel ready to get out without head cover, Cheryle!! When its warmer I have been going around the house without cover. Today after treatment I was pottering around bare headed and then thought I'd go check the letter box. Took two steps, saw the delivery truck across the road and realised I was 'naked'! Hahahahaha. Dashed back inside to put on cap. Couldn't believe I did that.

Also pleased the top is at last starting to grow for you. I'm waiting.....

Also pleased to know the hand rash is not just me! Always more doable when you know you're not alone. The steroid cream my oncologist gave me helps but he has said it may not actually go away until chemo finishes.

Two more sessions and I'm done with the chemo! Count down. Good to tick them off the list and know the list is getting shorter.

  • Hi Erica, I was thinking about you today! How are you going? I got a really bad rash on my hands from about Taxol 9 on, didn't matter how cream I put on they got really bad. The front part of my hair has started growing finally, still very short. This week I made the decision to go out and about without a cap. Feels strange get a few looks but I don't care! I have spoken to the hairdresser at Hairhouse Warehouse about Bosley and Nioxin shampoo. They do different things both are getting good reviews. I decided to go with the Agadir Oil shampoo and conditioner. It's a moisturising shampoo and as my scalp is a bit flaky at the moment this is what the hairdresser recommended. Cheryle :)
  • Hi Cheryle, Have you still got the thinner patch on top? That's how mine is coming back.. Or not! Very frustrating. Having # 10 taxol now. 2 to go. My hairdresser got Nioxin shampoo and conditioner for me - very expensive. I've been using it during taxol but stopped a few days ago because I have a bit of a rash on my hands. Not sure if it is making a difference but thinking I'll start using it again when chemo finishes in 2 weeks. My hair is not thick enough yet to uncover. You said you wear a cap to radio so must be reasonable length?? Cheers Erica
