great news

Hi Peeps. i had my follow up with the Dr after my lumpectomy yesterday. Great news everything is good no cancer in the 6 lymph nodes that they took out and the clearing around the growth is clear. Now im waiting on the appointment with the oncologist which should be within the next 2 weeks and they said 1 week after that hopefully i will start treatment. Then i will be on  Letrozole. Has anyone been on this hormone tablet and able to give me their views on taking it and what side effects they had. I understand that you can get the sweats and flushes etc like during menopause. I am post menopausal and the flushes and sweats didnt worry me too much. My husband and i and family are very happy with the results. We have a wonderful support team and doctors and nurses in Perth. I have been told in Australia we have one of the best Breast Cancer medical team in the world. I am one of the lucky ones to have met some of these people to help me thru this hurdle in life.  :)

  • Good news for you, I was diagnosed in 2012 , I'm on letrozole or femara as it can be called. My first few months had terrible cramps in legs and feet ,I take magnesium for this  lots of hot flushes, lethargy sometimes but still doing ok, all the best adean
