Got the all clear - now on to radiotherapy

I got the all clear, so now I begin radiotherapy. Just when it starts to heat up as if I need any more heat.

I have a nice fluffy head of white wavy hair. A completely new look, not exactly one I would have picked. Also my leg hair is growing - why now when summer is here.

I have been struggling with hot flushes which started midway through my chemo. but became much worse towards the end. Now that I also have had my ovaries removed my body is a little freaked out  - oh heck I can say a lot freaked out after what I have been through this year.

So now that summer is here I am thinking if these hot flushes are going to be worse at night and I keep waking and my sleep patterns are so disturbed its just going to snowball into a bad situation. So then I recall someone mentioned accupuncture.

So I tried it for the first time, in the rooms where I use to have chemo. I was told it may or may not work, everyone is different, it can take a few treatments to work over a few months or it can work immediately. I can say I have not had one hot flush in 2 days since I had the accupuncture.

So all I can say is so far so good. The accupuncture I was given is said to help with hot flushes, boost the immune system, help with pain and more.

So I start radiotherapy tomorrow for 6 weeks.

I have loved reading everyones journey and thank you all for sharing such raw emotions. I have shed many tears reading and also had a few good chuckles.

All the very best.
