Good cycles, bad cycles

Has anyone experienced different reactions to different cycles of their chemo?

I had round 3 12days ago and this one has really knocked me for six! I usually take 3 days off work but needed a week this time and even now I am just so tired. Never felt fatigue like it! My mouth ulcers were alot worse this time round, and I still have a sore tongue!

Now, I am dreading the next round, whereas usually it doesn't phase me. I'm half way through, and stopping isn't an option, but it is really getting me down a bit now, and I would be interested to see how the rest of you have coped?

I'm sure that by the 13th June when my next one is due I will be fine, but I will be glad when it's over!

Love to you all xx

  • Thanks girls, I know I shouldn't complain, as there is no other option that bears thinking about, so I just have to get on with this! I have had the neulasta after each cycle and I think that is what gives me the aches and pains, yet thankfully so far has prevented any infections!

Elisha I am having the TAC regime, Doxurubicin, Taxotare and Cyclophosphide, plis I am doing clinical trials of another drug!

I don't get any nausea or vomiting but I get really upset stomachs (once the constipation has stopped after day 4) and end up running to the toilet about 8 times a day for about a week! I feel the weakest I have ever felt in my life!!

Thank God for my supportive, adoring and wobderful husband, who looks after me like a princess!

Really appreciate your honesty girls...I will be fine x

  • hey jenny i started getting really crook after my 2nd chemo and had to have the injection 24hrs after. i got so crook got infections you name it , i dont want to scare you off but like elisha we shouldnt bull shit to you . it may be fine next time but it may not as elisha said we all react differently, but each one youve done is a step closer to the end of treatment . hang in. we are all here for you and all understand.

  • Hi Jen,

I am not going to lie to you because i had people lie to me and it doesn't help but keep in mind everyone is different...

My 3rd, 4th and 5th were the worst i think our patience run thinner and thinner each time also and you feel like when you get back up they keep knocking you down...

My 6th on the other hand was a dream compared to the rest minimal nausea to the rest i couldn't believe how great i felt but is that because i knew it was my last and my mind was in a better place? who knows i think it had a little to do with it...

I couldnt see the finish line until after my 6th it seemed so far away but i made it and so will you and when its here it all seems like it went by so quickly...

    What chemo are you having?

    xx
