Hi there. I'm a new user of this network so still finding my way around.
It's been 16 months since I had my mastectomy and axillary clearance. Chemo finished last June and Radiotherapy last Augus...
It is good that I have lost a little weight but now I have to keep it off. That's the hard part. I just need to stay really focused and I'm sure things will be fine. At least you are getting out there and trying to walk which is good as any small amount of exercise has got to be good for the body and mind. Can't imagine how hard it must be for you to be going through this a second time around. I guess you know what to expect instead of wondering what you are in for but I'm sure that doesn't make it any easier for you.
My new job is Pathology Courier so yes, it does involve sitting down while I'm driving but I will also get quite a bit of exercise as there will be quite a few pick up points on some of the runs. I was a Patient Transport Officer with non-emergency ambulance but even though I did enjoy the job before I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I feel that it would just be too much for me now as the hours are usually quite long. This new job will be casual relief and probably weekend work but only for a few hours so will suit me fine. Your part time job sounds quite interesting so good luck with that.
Yes, it is so lovely to have family support. That photo is of me, hubby and one of our daughters. We have four children, 3 girls and 1 boy and they have all been absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have stayed so positive if it weren't for all of them. Thank you for your message and hope to chat again real soon. All the best Tonya.
Regards
Fay xx
