Getting started with Radiation therapy

Welcome to this site, I am sorry you are having to go through this journey but I wish you well. I have found coming on here to be invaluable and a great source of advice from Ladies who are going through the same treatments. I am receiving my radiotherapy at Moorabbin and only have 6 treatments to go. The staff are wonderful and try and accommodate work commitments as much as possible. In my experience I find that the earlier the appointment there is less chance of being delayed. They give you your appointments on the Friday for the week ahead, so it's easier to plan ahead. Parking at Moorabbin is no problem, cost is $9.00 for the first hour. I have found I am in and out within an hour. The treatment itself only takes a couple of minutes, it's the getting changed into your gown, the Therapist setting you up for your treatment and then getting changed into your clothes. I can't believe how quickly the weeks have passed. I got tired in the third week, so you have to be kind to yourself Jenny. Start moisturising your skin a couple of weeks before your treatment, it really helps, I got this information from the lovely ladies on this site. Take care, Marls
