I have recently had the blood test and come back positive for BRC2 - i also recently turned 50 and am in the menopause = My next step is removal of ovaries next Tuesday - and do you know what I am worried about (the bloody suppoisitrie - cant even spell it) this scares me more than anything - how ridiculous is that!!!!
I'm not sure if it is the same but I recently had Endometrial Ablation for heavy periods and I had to have a suppository before the op. It was fine! I felt a bit embarrassed by it before it was done but the nurse was really nice and it just seemed natural for her. Basically the suppository was pushed gently into the anus. It is Voltaren, I think and helps with swelling and pain after the op.
Hopefully that's what you get too coz it wasn't a big deal and I felt fine after my op!

I had genetic testing about a month ago and came back negative but they have deemed I am high risk and ovary removal is recommended, however I have to have my chemo and radiation 1st.
You have me worried now too, what suppositories and what are they for??????

I am due to have my ovaries out next month because I cannot take Tamoxifen due to a blood clotting disorder. So they want to give me the post-menopause drug and remove ovaries to put me into menopause (already had sub total hysterectomy 4 years ago at 41yo)
I am yet to have genetic testing. What suppositories are you talking about? You have me worried haha.

ooh you made me giggle - isnt this the best site - I havent visited for a while and here it is - thanks for your response - marvelous (more at ease now - knowing you have been there) - I must get someone to put a photo of me - I am 19 months post surgery and feeling better about my hair since I had those blasted curls off.(fuzzy pubic hair is what it looked to me) never had short hair or grey for that matter - but am getting used to slowly.
