Genetic Test Results - Long wait

Hi everyone, I was just wondering how long it takes for your gentic test results to come through? I got tested in December and called I June to enquire about my progress. I was told they were extremely busy and it could now take up to 8 months, its now approach ing 9 and still nothing. Suppose it depends on what state I'm in WA & went through the public system. Just want to know the outcome.

    Hi Gillian,

    I can not believe you have to wait so long for your results!

    I had the gentetic testing done back in September 2013. I recieved my results 6 weeks later at the beginning of November.

    I live in NSW and went to a Genetic centre so maybe this is why. I just assumed it was 6 weeks for anyone to receive their results.

    I have had other family members who were tested also and their results were also back after 6 weeks.

    I hope you have your answer very shortly as it is a anxious time.

    I just read your posts and am shocked by the fact you girls have to wait that long. I am unfamiliar with the process but this sounds ridiculous. This is important information and time could make such a difference. I am sorry you are experiencing what seems to be either inefficiency or underfunding. Hope you hear very very soon xx Silke

    Hey Gillian,

    I'm in the same boat. I had genetic testing done late last year in Perth and I'm still waiting too. They told me it would take a while - but I didn't think it would take quite so long...  I was hoping I'd have results by now as I'm actually going in for surgery on Thursday! Hope you get your results soon.
