Full hysterectomy
Well ladies what a fright I had today. I have been having gynaecolgy promblems. Had ultrasound, they weren't happy with the growth on my uterus so I had a hysteroscope and a D&C. Had to get my resu...
I got the heart dropping fast with your positive comment - then reading on, phew.
I had my ovaries and tubes removed (keyhole surgery) due to my cancer being hormone positive. Figured we have our children so out they go. Was no more painful than bad period pain really and only overnight in hospital. I stayed in a few extra days due to having a second axillary dissection. Still went home early with drain, I had had enough of the nurses coming in to check up on me every few hours.
Just as Sarah has said you can opt to have vaginal or abdominal. My friend had a vaginal hysterectomy (not because of cancer) she was in for 2 days and so happy with her results. Less down time is always a better option I say.
All the very best.
