Follow ups after treatment

Initially I had 3 surgeries in 14 days while the doctor chased down the cancer.

Then I changed surgeons...a long story.

I did the chemo.

I did the radiation.

Initially I was told that grade 3 stage 3 I would be getting checked out by specialists every 3 months....alternatively between surgeon and oncologist.

I'd be interested in hearing what others are doing for follow ups.....and how often they do them.

  • 3 months oncologist- and probably start physical exam next appt

yearly mammagrams with breast surgeon appt so she can check results

no blood or other scans, tests

i think ive got radiation oncologist appt but its been months so i probably will think about cancelling as ive got no complications or anything of interest going on

  • My appointments have moved to 6 months now as I am 1 year post surgery. Between all my doctors i seem to have appointments every 3-4 months.

To be honest I am happy with that I am back at work and doctors appointments tend to have tests, scans etc to be done as well and it all takes time.

When I had issues with side effects to my meds the onc saw me immediately there was not issue etting in so I am happy with all that.
