Follow up
A big Thank you for responding and your kind words to Trace, Sharon, Jenny, Nadine and Wendy h67.
Since attending followup with urologist and oncologist I have since managed to suffer a UTI which manifested itself with more bleeding (frank blood) from the bladder - managed by antibiotic called macrodantin 100mg 4 times daily.
Follow up with Urologist - gave me three options for management of the stent. It will need to be replaced in approximately 6 months time (provided all goes well). 1. Replace current stent with the same kind of stent (JJ pigtail). 2. Replace current stent with a metal stent which involves stretching urether. Sounds painful, plus can't have any further MRI's. 3. Opening me up, debride area around the urether, wrap it in my body fat and replace urether in a secure position within my body. Painful plus major operation. It was obvious, I went for the first option. So now have booking in private hospital for procedure next May or there abouts.
Follow up with Oncologist was that he basically wanted to resume chemo, with my next treatment on 30th November but as I have developed a UTI, treatment has now been postponed to 4th December. Not sure if he can get another treatment in before Christmas, which he wanted to do before UTI. Also mentioned that he was conversing with Oncology Radiologist who did some radiation on the laminectomy site post op to see if this procedure had anything to do with the retroperontineal fibrosis in that area. Not sure of reasoning behind this ...whether they can do anything or just be aware of it.
Anyway, hopefully this next chemo treatment will go well and I have no adverse reaction. Do so wish to get away for break. Sue :)
