I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer about a year ago and have a recurrent pleural effusion (fluid around the lung) due to the mets. I've had it drained three times now but the fluid keeps on coming back. Also, its very painful each time I've had it drained. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience and if there are any other options out there to treat this? Best wishes, Julie xx

I'm sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with this. I can't share any experience with you - have you searched some of the American boards for information? Ususally the http://www.breastcancer.org board has women with loads of information - head to the Stage4 section and I'm sure someone will be able to share experiences.
