First time blogger

Thank you for your post and welcome to that special club we belong to! I am so pleased to be communicating with special women who as you stated can relate to each others experiences and I am so glad you are doing well after your treatment. I am also doing well, it has just been 6 weeks since my bilateral mastectomy and I started driving again on the weekend which was faboulos as it gives me back some of my independance although my friends and family have been very supportive driving me about,  catching up for coffee and a chat.  Although I reside in suburbia  I guess living in a rural area as you do can  be a blessing  to be able to enjoy the peace and tranquility of your beautiful surroundings and as you are aware on line friends are always an added bonus and comfort and not to far away.

While I am off work it is giving me the chance to catch up on some of my correspondence studies which I have understandably neglected lately but am now charging along with, it is good to be utilising the time well. I hope you have a great week and look forward to chatting again soon.

As Tanya said, welcome to the club, that nobody wants to join, but now you are here, i am sure you will be glad to have found others who are going or have been through the journey,  I was lucky enough to have a lumpectomy, but then had chemo, radio and am now on hormone (arimidex) for 5 years, but all is well, living in a rural area there are no support groups around here, but, comming on here and chatting to others has been so good, even if it was after i finished treatment, as we know its great to have support of family and friends, but an added bonus to have others to talk to, who know what we are feeling, feel free to add me as a contact, and please keep in touch with us all, by helping yourself, you will be able to help others. Hi Jennifer

Welcome to the club that no one wants to join.  Great that you have found this site and i am sure some of the women will give you some valuable advice on radiation.  I did not have radiation only chemo.

I had my first mastecomy in December 2007 and chose to have my healthy breast off and reconstruction earlier this year.  I am happy with my decision and I will go back to surgery early next for the final part of my reconstruction.

Just wanted to say what a good looking family you have in your profile pic! and I hope you are getting lots of support from them.

I hope you enjoy blogging, I find it wonderful to share stories with others going through the same experiences and I definately am stronger and more informed from my blogging.

Hope to chat again soon.  I sent you a contact request, but hit send without adding a message so I apologise and hope you dont think I am a stalker!!  lol

Just counting the sleeps until the surgery. Not long now. I'm getting lots of PINK gifts from family and friends, running out of room to put them.

How wonderful to see you giving such great support when you too are facing surgery., ... your a legend. As I said to Flo, my son (aged 15)  and i are doing a mini-field of pink lady's so will also plant one for you on the 29th. We are also 'releasing' 100 pink ballons so will place both yours and Flo's names in a little love heart and send with love and blessings your way. Hi Flo, My name is Chrissy and I'm also a newby to the site and also blogging. My surgery is on Friday 29th October same as you.I am having a right side mastectomy and lymph nodes removed.  I live in Bundy Qld, and have a wonderful surgeon and support team. My McGrath Breast Care Nurse is a god Send and I dont know what I'd do without her. I'm finding the waiting really hard for me to deal with, I just want it over with and start treatment and move on. I'm normally a very patient person but finding myself getting really cranky.

I just have to take a "chilpill" as my kids say and keep busy and hope time flys over the next week. 7 more sleeps.

I really hope you get over your cold. Take it easy and keep blogging as their are heaps of wonderful people to talk with, ask questions etc.
