Hi there Flo, welcome to the world of Blog .... we who inhabit this place are a very friendly lot ... we love to chat and if we can be of help to you then that's a bonus (for us of course because as well as loving to chat we love to be helpful !!! LoL)
What is the surgery you are going for ... hope it's not anything too drastic???
I was diagnosed in January of this year and had a mastctomy and lymph gland removal the same month. I was fortunate in as much as my cancer was isolated and hadn't travelled anywhere else in my body, so I haven't needed chemo or radiotherapy. I am on Arimidex for 5 years.
Now you have ventured into Blog-land please stay in touch ..... there are plenty of us here only too happy to help out in any way at all..... so if you are uncertain or worried about anything don't hesitate to ask. Someone somewhere will have had a similar experience and be only too pleased to offer assistance.
Do you have your "My Journey" kit yet? It is a free service which can be ordered here on line, and is a wealth of information. It covers everything you could wish to know and includes a journal to keep track of your appointments, medication and pathology reports and importantly your thoughts and emotions as you go on this journey. Also included is a dvd that your family can watch with you - it goes a long way to giving them a better understanding of what all of you are experiencing.
Will be thinking of you next week and hoping for your speedy recovery - keep in touch and let us know how things are progressing for you
Cheers ..... Shirl xx
