First meeting with the oncology team

Hi everyone,

I finally meet with my oncologist today, very happy with them both, reg and consultant, first pre chemo blood tests done. Now all I have to do is to wait for the Dr to check if TC chemo is PBS aproved for my cancer since I do not have lymph node involvment. If the answer is no then is on with FEC chemo for me, keeping my fingers and everything else crossed , so the TC chemo will be OK because I do not like the sound of FEC chemo because of its effect on heart muscle.

So wish me luck that in a week or two I'll start the chemo, I am sooo ready to move over to the next step of treatment as this waiting game is not agreeing with me.

I am also meeting with the breast care nurse today for the first time face to face, prior to today we have just spoken over the phone, she was very helpfull.

    Hi Sandy , I am really positive I want this chemo over and done, I already ordered my little hats as I am not interested in wiggs and also I booked for that Look good feel good program . FEC chemo is a combination of Fluorouracil, Epirubicin and Cyclophosphamide soo my doctor dr Mok is checking which one is PBS aproved for my type of cancer Grade 3 non node involvement she is tossing between FEC and TC which is the Docetaxel and Cyclophosphamide combo.One is 6 cycles every 21 days the other is 4 cycles every 21 days . Ill know soon enough I guess hopefully next week. I like Pharmilla I finally met her as I spoke with her over the phone. Iam still waiting for physio to contact me i just need a bit of advice on type of exercise for muscle strenght. It will be a bit weird for me when I start chemo cause I know some of the girls there , I work as an Registered nurse in Liverpool hospital. Hope you go well with chemo tomorrow , I'll be thinking of you. Hopefully will get to catch up at the group meeting next week, keep me posted on how you feeling and feel free to call on 0421900114 if you need to talk to someone I am not working now until my treatment is finished .
