I was diagnosed with breast cancer four days ago after removal of a lump which tests ( needle extraction of fluid) had come back 'no cancer cells present' .So I did not rush to make an appointment with a breast surgeon to have the lump removed. This was recommended only if I wanted. So now I will have more surgery on the 21st October to ensure the margins of it are removed as well as some lymph nodes and then radiation. Can't remember anything else! Will wait for the following Monday to know more. In limbo.

Hi Kathryn. These first days can be overwhelming. Make sure you have someone with you at all your appointments. They'll take in different things, & probably more than you do. Write down questions as you think of them, and take that list of questions to the appointment to ask. It's also worth asking if you can record the appointment, to listen back to - personal use only. Hi Kathryn, I was recently diagnosed also and had my surgery on Friday, it is a difficult time for you, take it step at a time and remember there is amazing support there for you as I have found. Sending hugs xx

Love and hugs Kathryn. I had my op on the 1st of Oct and like so many of the other ladies go 1 step at a time. I had micromatastaisis in my Sentinel Node, but the next Lymph Node was clear as was my pathology for my cancer lesion that was removed. The surgeons recommended an appointment with both the Medical Oncology, (Chemo) unit and of course the Radiation Dept. Well my Appt yesterday re Chemo was great. They recommended no Chemo, but of course still the radiation and some Hormone Therapy. So next step Radiation Appt on 26th Oct for ? mapping and I will go from there. Family and close friends are thrilled for me. All the best with your surgery tomorrow my dear and know I will be thinking of you. xxoo

Thanks Gale all good at the moment. All the best for your radiation appt on Monday. Do you have to wait for wounds to heal before radiation?

thanks Tracey, yes a fog describes it well , everything beyond the fog ceases to exist. I also have a broken left wrist after a fall two weeks before first surgery so feeling very trapped!

Thanks Lyn taking my middle daughter who is a nurse ( with instructions to listen to doctor and recall what I probably won't be) . I made the mistake of going alone to first surgery result as I had assumed all was ok!

Thanks yes I made it through surgery again . At home calm, soft , gentle, quiet, waiting for results on Monday for next step.
